Hey guys! Happy New Year to you and Hello 2017!
Who else was ready to let 2016 go and get moving on with 2017? 2016 was a struggle for me. It started out strong for the first couple of months and then I suffered an injury that had me hitting the chiropractor twice a week for a couple of months. After that, I had a hard time bouncing back. Thankfully, though we all have a clean slate and a much needed reset.
I kind of love the time of year. I love making resolutions, and lists, so this is like a dream come true. Some years I crush it and others, like last year, just kind of fall a little flat. I’m mixing things up a little this year and starting out a little more gently. Last year for example I jumped out of bed and went for a run. This year, we slept in, went for a walk, caught up with some friends, did my first, of what I plan on being many, yoga sessions, and then went for a short one mile run. It might be the shortest run ever! We had a super late breakfast that was really more along the line of lunch and did a few things around the house like hang clocks, clean kitchen floors, and cook. I also continued to fine tune the resolutions.
A couple of years ago I had a huge list and I got a lot of stuff done but I felt like the year just zoomed right by. Last year did too. So, this time I’m focusing more on intention and really trying to hone in on some bigger picture things. Instead of a 25 page to do list, I’m shooting for a one page master plan with a separate page of adventures. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you guys just as soon as I’m ready. I’m still pondering a few things.
But enough about me, what are you hoping to accomplish this year? Any adventures in the works? Maybe a surfing trip to Costa Rica or a nice long walk along the John Muir Trail? How about hitting up the Hill Country in Texas for a little antiquing or heading out to Jackson Hole for a marathon? Any recipes you’re just dying to try or DIY projects you’re itching to tackle?
Anyways guys, here’s to a New Year and another trip around the sun! Let’s get out there and make the most of it. I can’t wait to share this adventure with all of you and hear all about your year along the way.
